We believe that a
memorable culinary experience is enhanced when
enjoyed in a setting complemented with live music
and original works of art.
The Joseph Decuis art
program began in 1996 with three objectives: to
contribute to the visually stimulating atmosphere
of the restaurant for the enjoyment of guests,
share contemporary fine art with an appreciative
audience, and support the artistic community.
Our restaurant
features the largest permanent collection of oil
paintings and sculpture by artist Tim Johnson. Many
of the works have been commissioned by the
restaurant. Tim is a frequent guest at the
restaurant on his many trips to the United States
from his home in Cannes, France.
Leon
Decuis and Celeste
On Friday and Saturday
evenings a group of very talented musicians from
the area perform a variety of jazz tunes, many of
which have become synonymous with the Joseph Decuis
experience.
Joseph Decuis music
program is under the direction of Kevin Piekarksi.
The assistant principal bassist with the Fort Wayne
Philharmonic since 1983, Piekarski earned his
Bachelor of Music degree from the Cincinnati
Conservatory of Music. He has played with an
impressive list of jazz/pop performers including
Gene Bertoncini, Steve Allen, Mel Torme, Roy
Clarke, Toni Tennile, Maureen McGovern, Diahann
Carrol, Johnny Ray, Dick Jurgens Orchestra, and
Mark Preston (formerly with the Letterman). Kevin
founded The Clark Kent Jazz Trio and is the bass
instructor at Indiana/Purdue Fort Wayne.
In addition to live
performances, this music has been recorded on a CD
and is available for purchase..
